Aburi botanical gardens

Located in this cool tranquil environment is the Aburi Botanical Gardens. The garden covers a total land area of about one hundred and sixty (160) acres. However, it is only three (3) acres that have been developed and the remaining serving as a botanical reserve. We will visit this botanical garden to learn its history and purpose.

From there, we will visit the Aburi craft village to browse through their art gallery and shop some items.

Tetteh Quashie Cocoa Farm

Tetteh Quarshie was a pre-independence Ghanaian agriculturalist and the person directly responsible for the introduction of cocoa crops to Ghana, which today constitute one of the major export crops of the Ghanaian economy. We will make a visit to this farm to learn the history.

Boti Waterfalls and Aka falls

If you are lover of waterfalls; we will descend the mountains of Aburi to Koforidua where we will visit one of the twin waterfalls in Ghana known as Boti (the head of the stone). A few minutes’ drive away is Aka waterfalls.

Umbrella Rock Formation

The Umbrella Rock is a rock formation some few minutes drive away from the site of the Boti falls. We will hike through the forest to visit this beautiful rock formation. There are other rock formations in the forest area that we will stop to admire before getting to the umbrella rock. As the name implies, the overhang on the top is large enough to cover 12 to 15 people at once. Some tourist chooses to be driven to the site because they are unable to hike to the umbrella rock. The choice is yours!

The Palm Tree with 3 trunks

After the umbrella rock; we will visit mysterious palm tree with 3 trunks. Growing by itself the locals believe this is not an ordinary scene thereby they attach a spiritual meaning to it.
